Youth Month 2019
The RE:ACT Youth Summit After Dark event is tackling the tough topics when it comes to the Bundaberg Multiplex next month.

Young people across the region will be given the floor to speak about bullying and violence as part of Youth Month activities in April.

The RE:ACT Youth Summit After Dark event is tackling the tough topics and organisers are urging the community to get involved.

Bundaberg Regional Council’s Community and Cultural Services portfolio spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said the event was aimed at the region's youth from 12 to 25 years.

“This is a chance for our young people to have their voice heard and to see what others are saying on topics that are very prevalent in our youth community,” Cr Peters said.

“It’s the perfect avenue for an open discussion in a safe environment.

“The summit will shine the light on bullying and violence through perspective of our younger generation.”

Get involved in Youth Month 2019

The Youth Month 2019 Summit will be held from 5pm to 8pm at the Bundaberg Multiplex on Tuesday, 30 April.

The Summit will also include a barbecue fundraiser, entertainment, information stalls and an inspiring exhibition by the region’s young artists.

Cr Peters said The Youth Art Place would give young people a platform to show off their talent and skill.

“There is no theme, it is about young people being able to express themselves in their own way using any medium,” Cr Peters said.

“Exhibition submissions are still being accepted, so if you would like to showcase your art, please let us know!”
