A new carpark is being constructed to provide better access to Mary Kinross Park.

Improved access to Mary Kinross Park at Bargara South off Woongarra Scenic Drive will be available soon after a new carpark is constructed.

Bundaberg Regional Council environment and natural resources portfolio spokesman Cr Wayne Honor said the park was a popular destination.

“Mary Kinross Park features play facilities, a pathway network, seating and barbecue facilities so it appeals to a wide cross-section of the community,” Cr Honor said.

“Formalised car parking will provide improved and safer access to the playground and support facilities.”

The project is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 9 April and is expected to take about four weeks, weather permitting.

Playground access will not be impacted by the works. A temporary carpark to the south-east of the site will be available during construction.

Mary Kinross Park is a designated off-leash area for dogs.

The project is funded through the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program.
