Mark your calendar! Superheroes will be the theme when Flourish Family Fun Day 2019 is held in Bundaberg soon.
The all-inclusive event is on again at Boreham Park, Avenell Heights, celebrating and acknowledging the diversity of families in the Bundaberg Region.
Bundaberg Regional Council's Community and Cultural Services portfolios spokesperson Cr Judy Peters said everyone was invited to attend in their favourite superhero costume.
“I'm expecting to see many mini spidermen and wonderwomen around and maybe even a ninja turtle or two!” Cr Peters said.
The annual event features a range of great entertainment, information stalls and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
“This great event provides entertainment, information stalls and activities for all the family.
“It's also perfect for interested stallholders to get involved.
“Showcase your family friendly service or organisation to the community in your favourite superhero costume!”
Flourish Family Fun Day turtley-cool guests
Two special guests will also be attending Flourish Family Fun Day and they too will be dressed to impress.
Last year Bundaberg Regional Libraries' Mama Turtle hatched four baby turtles at the Hatching Day of the Paint the Town REaD reading egg.
Mama Turtle mostly stays at the library to help during library programs with children but her babies get out in the community gathering stories and songs around Bundaberg.
“During the event Mama Turtle and one of her hatchlings, Milbi, will be with the team from the Library and First 5 Forever,” Cr Peters said.
“They have prepared their superhero capes and are ready to fly around and share stories, songs, rhymes and chats with the children!”
As part of the event, the annual Welcome Baby Celebration will be held.
There will also be a special Teddy Bear Parade- so don't forget to bring your bear friend along!
Flourish Family Fun Day will be held on Thursday 4 July from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm at Boreham Park, Avenell Heights.
