Bundaberg Four Wheel Drive Club members recently got to witness all of the camping and caravanning glory at The 51st annual Queensland Caravan, Camping & Touring Super Show held in Brisbane.

On show were caravans, motor homes, campervans, camper trailers, off road recreational vehicles and 4WD’s, along with an assortment of accessories to complete any package.

Around 250 individual exhibitors displayed their products and services promoting them to over 50,000 people who visited the show during the six days it ran for.

Aussies love to travel

There are over 450,000 registered caravans and recreational vehicles in Australia today and an estimated 15,000 Australians on an extended road holiday at any one time.

Caravanning and camping is the largest single segment of tourism in Australia.

Highlights at the show included the worlds biggest caravan made out of legos, outback adventure operators, exotic camping destinations plus up-to-date information for the big trip around Australia.

There was also free holiday park information and guides along with the Creek To Coast cooking and outdoor stage where Sally Jenyns and Scotty Hillier put on cooking demonstrations as well as giving insights on what goes on when filming the popular TV show.

Eddie Springer from Springers Solar was on hand to explain the in’s and outs of all things solar.

The weights and towing master classes, presented by Roger Vickory from ARB and Gary Gardiner from Hayman Reece, explained the intricacies of weight distribution, how to hitch and unhitch safely to make the towing experience safer, comfortable and enjoyable.

Kid’s activities, the Shimano Fishing and Casting demonstration, Street Entertainers and a great range of free activities and entertainment had something for all ages.

The one stop shop for all things caravanning and camping gets better each year.

If you are looking to upgrade, buy your first van or just like to see what’s on offer the show is the place to be, with next years event already being planned to be bigger and better.
