Bundaberg businesswoman Kate Marland is taking her passion for fashion to the CBD, becoming the new owner of VoVo’s in the heart of the city.
VoVo’s Boutique, formally VoVo Modelle, on Bourbong Street reopened last week with new owner Kate taking the reins.
Featuring new lighting, a new paint job, new flooring and new stock in place, Kate said she was delighted to offer the region her services at the revamped store.
“Essentially I wanted to keep the same beauty of VoVo Modelle, as it had been my favourite boutique to shop at for 10 years, but just give it a little facelift,” she said.
Business in her veins
Kate is no stranger to the business world, with the local woman the fourth generation of her family in the jewellery industry.
“As the owner of Warners Fine Jewellery, located at 78 Bourbong Street, and just a short stride down from VoVo’s, I’m passionate about our beautiful Bundaberg CBD,” she said.
With a love for fashion, Kate said when the opportunity arose to take on VoVo Modelle she “simply couldn’t resist”.
“I am fortunate to have the full support of my wonderful husband Tom Marland, the principal solicitor at Marland Law, along with my gorgeous parents Michael and Kay,” Kate said.
VoVo’s Boutique offers a range of options
With a variety of clothing, jewellery and accessories available at the boutique, Kate said VoVo’s was a fashion oasis for women of the Bundaberg Region.
“We have a wide range of Australian and international designers and labels stocking our store that rival any store you will see in any of the major cities,” she said.
“We have outfits for all ages of ladies, and all sizes with our price point ranging from $100 to $1000.”
Kate said in addition to clothing, the boutique also stocked a range of handmade designer hats and millinery.
She said she had also worked closely with shoe designer Nat-Sui to develop a range of unique shoes just for VoVo’s.
“This will feature unique sandals and mid heels,” Kate said.
At Vovo’s Boutique, Kate said she wanted to introduce timeless fashion.
“I’m conscious to stay up on fashion trends, whilst also keeping in mind that sometimes fashion is an investment,” she said.
“I want our customers to be able to wear and love their clothing from VoVo’s for more than a season.
“Let’s face it, great style rather than trends is always ‘en vogue’.”
