September school holidays are just around the corner and what better way to enjoy spring weather than hurtling down the Bucca Retreat slide.
Bucca Retreat’s Jamin Fleming said the popular slide would open for the first time this season as the weather warmed up and it was sure to keep the kids entertained and outdoors.
“We are flat out with school camps, so we are thrilled to be able to open for the public for a few days!” Jamin said.
The 15-metre high slide opened to the public for the first time during the spring school holidays two years ago and was an instant hit with the community.
Opening days for the Bucca slide
The slide will be open for two days on 21 and 26 September. It will cost $10 for one hour of slipping and sliding down the 100m slide.
Jamin said the four-level water slide was the most popular activity for all ages at the retreat, and the pool at the end of the slide was shallow and easy to get out of.
He said entry to Bucca Retreat was free, and it was an ideal place to take in the countryside for a picnic.
“Canoeing, swimming and fishing are also available on the days,” Jamin said.
“It’s free entry so if you just want to come and have a look, bring a picnic!”
As the weather continues to warm up, Jamin said more activities were in the works for Christmas school holidays.
Bucca Retreat is situated on 40ha about 20 minutes’ drive from the Bundaberg CBD at 144 Kleidons Road, Bucca.
