Pennies From Heaven is set to deliver a dynamic show, putting a modern twist on your favourite songs this Friday at the Waves Sports Club.
Ra Elsmore first formed Pennies in 2017 as a girl band after losing her sister and coming to the realisation that you need to follow your dreams because life is too short.
Since then the band has evolved with their members now including talented local Bundaberg musos, keeping the beat on drums is Ben Harper, who also spends half his year playing in international touring tribute acts, and the unforgettable Jake Higgins.
Lead guitarist is the gifted Chris Horton while Jesse Broz in on bass.
Finally, Pennies foundation member with over 30 years of performing experience Ra Elsmore leads the band with her amazing vocals.
“A Pennies show is high energy with music from 80s through to today’s chart busters”, the band
“No genre defines the band, and songs from earlier periods creep into our shows”.
When these songs are combined with vocal talents of band as a whole you’re in for a musical experience with Pennies.
With Chris having finished his second year of the CQU Conservatorium Jazz Program and Ben graduating the same program a few years earlier, Pennies are heavily influenced by the eclectic world of jazz.
But they also draw their inspiration from classical music, blues, fusion and of course their own favourite musical artists.
Pennies From Heaven deliver a dynamic show playing hits from the 80’s through to today to audiences all over the Wide Bay.
“We especially enjoy recreating the original sounds and arrangements of all these songs, whilst adding a modern twist,” the band said.
You can catch them this weekend at the Waves Sports Club on Friday, 8 November from 8pm.
