A limited number of free tickets to the fun-filled Mon Repos Turtle Centre community days are now available to celebrate its redevelopment.
During the one-hour tour attendees will be treated a special guided tour of the state-of-the-art experience that is the redeveloped centre.
The Mon Repos Community Day will also include live music entertainment, face painting, fun and interactive games, along with the retail shop.
Community open days will be held at the new Mon Repos Turtle Centre on 24 November and 8 December to thank Bundaberg Region people for their turtle conservation efforts.
The Mon Repos Community Day announcement was made when Deputy Premier Jackie Trad and Environment Minister Leeanne Enoch visited the new centre earlier this month.
Important information about vehicle access and parking
While landscaping and roadwork at the park is finalised, some access changes are in place to keep attendees safe.
Rookery Road, into Mon Repos Conservation Park, is closed to public vehicles (including bicycles) until mid-December. Parking is available outside the conservation park.
A shuttle bus will be operating on the Mon Repos Community Day to transport people from the parking area at the end of Mon Repos Road to the centre.

To ensure you maximise your time at the centre, please arrive 10 minutes before your allocated tour time. You will be free to stay in the centre’s courtyard if you wish after your tour to enjoy a range of activities available.
Construction on the new Mon Repos Turtle Centre was completed just in time for the start of nightly turtle encounter tours.
Turtle Encounter tickets are on sale now. Ticket bookings close at 4pm each night for that night's tour.
