The team at Isis Pet Resort have put a call out to pet owners affected by the region's bushfires to bring in their beloved pooches or cats for temporary free boarding.

Owner of the pet resort Chris Bazzocco said the offer was something she wanted to do to help those in need and to give back to the community that had always supported her organisation.

“The community has always greatly supported us and we have some amazing pets and owners that we want to help,” she said.

“In times like this, people can often find themselves a place to stay but pets is a whole other problem.”

Chris said the fires had also affected one of their own.

“One of our staff members, who lives in Woodgate, has been affected and is currently staying with us with her pets,” she said.

“We got to talking about just how many people would be in the exact same situation as her.

“We want to offer those people who are with their pets and can't get home a place for the animals to stay for free to take the pressure off.”

Chris said it wasn't the first time free boarding had been offered, with the team opening their gates to those suffering during the flood crisis a few years ago.

“We had more than 30 pets with us during that time,” she said.

“Whenever there is any disaster emergency going on in our region we like to help because the community does so much good for us.”

If you would like to take up Isis Pet Resort on their offer of temporary complimentary boarding, phone Chris and the team on 4126 9009 or message the Facebook page.
