Leah Briggs is returning to the region this weekend for two performances only.

Leah Briggs will bring her country sound to the Federal Hotel in Childers this Friday night and the Apple Tree Creek Hotel on Saturday.

Residing now in Victoria, Leah returns to the Bundy region which she called home for almost two years on a mini tour of the town she described as her “happy place”.

Leah first got into music at around 13 years old when she picked up her first guitar and learnt a few chords from her mates.

Practising and singing in the protection of her bedroom it was Leah’s Dad who recognised the talent and entered Leah into the Francis Folk Gathering talent quest which she won, from there she was on the road with her Dad’s encouragement and support singing, playing and winning awards all over Australia.

Originally from the small town of Beachport, South Australia, Leah said she always had music in her blood and was greatly inspired by the Dead Ringer Band and later by Kasey Chambers as she branched into her solo career.

Leah has worked with some of Australian country music’s biggest stars including Bill Chambers, Troy Cassar Daley, Melinda Shneider, Adam Brand, Daryl Braithwaite and Adam Harvey.

Playing a fantastic array of the songs we all know and love mixed in with originals that will knock your socks off, Leah’s repertoire covers many genres from country to pop including Kasey Chambers, Paul Kelly, John Denver, Hunters and Collectors, CCR, Fleetwood Mac, Hank Williams, John Fogerty and the cruisy tunes of Van Morrison.

Leah released her first album “Save Me” in 2015 which she worked on with Bill Chambers and Robert Ludwig from Texas, which is available for purchase on Spotify and ITunes or at her gigs.

Leah is loving being back in the Bundy Region and has been inundated with requests to play so much so that she has chosen to extend her tour.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see this talented singer songwriter before she heads southward to her home.
