Construction begins at RV Oceanside Burnett Heads

Construction of RV Oceanside at Burnett Heads is under way, with the development set to feature a range of resort-style leisure facilities.

A new lifestyle village featuring more than 480 home sites is starting to take shape in Burnett Heads with construction of Stage 1 at RV Oceanside now under way.

Project co-ordinator Amy Boyd said the works included upgrades to the Burnett Heads Road and Schleger Street intersection and a major upgrade to Schleger Street.

“Inside the village, our civil works team is installing underground services, constructing roadways and preparing home sites for construction,” she said.

“Our construction team has commenced work on our community facilities as well.”

Plans for the 40 hectare site were announced last year, featuring a range of amenities at the site in Burnett Heads.

“RV Oceanside will feature 487 home sites and five-star, resort-style leisure facilities including a lagoon-style pool, gymnasium, art studio, bars and communal kitchen facilities, lawn bowls and a games room featuring tenpin bowling lanes and two state-of-the-art golf simulators,” Amy said.

“We expect completion of the whole village in approximately six years.”

RV Oceanside creates local work

Amy said since day one, RV Oceanside had been committed to engaging local businesses whenever possible.

“We have worked closely with a number of Bundaberg-based businesses through the planning stages, including RMA Engineers, Insite SJC, John Gatley Building Designs, SNT Electrical and Christensen Industries,” she said.

“Following a rigorous tender evaluation, the appointment of Devcon in 2019 to undertake civil works construction recognises the quality of work that the business produces and its ability to compete with larger, south-east Queensland-based contractors.”

Burnett Heads the pick of the bunch

Amy said Burnett Heads was specifically chosen as the location of the lifestyle village.

“Developers, RV Lifestyle Village Oceanside, are a small, family-owned business with long ties to the area,” she said.

“With its ideal climate, coastal location and proximity to Bundaberg’s major services, Burnett Heads was the perfect choice for the project.

“We want to create a residential community that will appeal to locals and also attract new residents to Burnett Heads.”

Amy said construction of a display home village would begin in the coming weeks.
