After almost three months of inactivity, the Bundaberg and District Table Tennis Association has resumed play at its Kendalls Road centre.
Coaching, training and social sessions have been scheduled for most days and nights of the week in anticipation of being able to resume club competition in July when stage 3 of the COVID-19 restrictions come into effect.
Under the current stage 2 conditions, only 20 people can be in the centre at any time, but this still allows relatively big groups of players to get back into the swing.
Junior coaching and training has resumed on Monday and Tuesday afternoons as well as Friday nights, with the club’s session for Para TT and Special Olympics players having resumed this week on Thursday afternoon.
Social sessions are being held on Tuesday and Wednesday night, Friday morning and Sunday afternoon for all age groups, with juniors also having a session on Friday afternoon.
Not only club members are welcome to any of these sessions, but also anyone who may be interested in possibly joining the Bundaberg and District Table Tennis Association for the second half of the year.
There's a discounted membership fee for those who sign up for the upcoming winter season.
However, due to the limit of 20 players allowed in the centre at present, bookings are necessary.
If stage 3 comes into effect as expected on 10 July, the club’s winter season for senior players will commence on the following Tuesday and Wednesday nights (14 and 15 July) while the term 3 junior season will start on Friday, 17 July.
Nominations for all these competitions are now open for both current members and new players.
Bookings for the current sessions or to nominate for the winter and term 3 seasons can be made by calling the association on 4155 2388 or Dave Delpratt 0418 526 968 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
