Stroud Homes Bundaberg is the best performing franchise in the country as demand increases from new homeowners and interstate buyers.
Director Aletha Walters said their 2020 contract numbers had already more than doubled compared to the full 12 months of 2019.
“We’ve sold nearly 145 homes since January,” Aletha said.
“Last year we sold, I think it was 68, and we had 58 slabs on the ground by the end of the year.
“We currently have 22 jobs on the ground in Bundaberg.”
She said the building industry was run off its feet as a result of Government incentive packages but the Bundaberg Region was performing better than other areas.
“The stimulus has created such an economic boost, it’s crazy.
“We are the biggest Stroud builder in Australia based on these stats at the moment.
“Being part of a national franchise, what we’re finding is we can see how the stimulus has affected all parts of Australia.
“Not everyone has had the impact the Wide Bay has.
“We have a bit of a sweet spot.
“More and more jobs are coming up, it’s a great place in terms of price point.”
Plenty of people are making the sea change with 47 per cent of Stroud Homes clients moving home or moving from interstate.
“A lot of them have got family at the Sunshine Coast but it’s a little bit too expensive,” Aletha said.
“They’re retirees it’s only two hours down the road from their families.
“We’ve got the beach right there, the country right there, we’re two hours from the Sunshine Coast.”
And Aletha doesn’t see building activity slowing down any time soon.
“I think that we are going to see a dramatic boost more and more over the next 12 to 18 months in our region.”
She said Stroud Homes Bundaberg was currently building new homes right across the region including Branyan, Woodgate, Childers and Bargara.
