Impact course sets renters up for success

Impact is again running its tenancy course.

Impact Community Services is again running the popular course: Skillsets for Successful Tenancies – Dollars and Sense.

If you're looking to get a foot in the door in the current rental market, this could be just the ticket.

Facilitator Lesley Allen said the course was a great way for people to get a better outcome with their rental applications.

“There is less than a one per cent vacancy rate in Bundaberg at the moment, so people need all the help they can get,” Lesley said.

“This course is a great way to prove to an owner, landlord or agent that you are a responsible tenant.”

The free course, which is delivered by the Tenancy Skills Institute and funded by the Queensland Government, will run on consecutive Wednesdays, October 21 and 28, from 9am to 2.30pm at Impact’s Independence House.

Two modules will be covered each day.

Lesley said would-be renters needed as many positives against their name as possible to secure a home in the current climate.

Course participants are provided a certificate of achievement upon completion which can be attached to a rental application.

“A client who did this course online got the first house she applied for,” Lesley said.

This is the fourth time Impact has run the popular accredited course.
