Sun lounges offer resort-style comfort at pool

The summer heat has seen many residents diving into fun at Norville Park Pool and new sun lounges have added an extra layer of relaxation to the experience.

The attractive ‘laguna lounges’ are on wheels so that they can be moved around to suit the needs of pool goers, whether that be a comfortable seat by the water’s edge while supervising young swimmers or relaxing on the deck overlooking the facility.

Norville Park Pool manager Michele Watson said the sun lounges had been added as part of Council’s continuous improvements of the public pool.

“There’s lots of people that have been sitting on them and were very excited to see them,” Michele said.

“It looks very resort-y.

Norville Park Pool is now home to resort style sun lounges.

“This year, with COVID, we’ve been encouraging families to consider the picnic rug idea.

“That defines their space, so they are still socially distanced from other groups, and the lounges have certainly assisted with that.

“We can wheel them around to suit the patronage.”

Over the winter closure period, Michele said two new large umbrellas were also installed by Council to provide extra shade.

The sun lounges have been popular in what Michele said was already shaping up to be a busy swim season.

“We’ve been exceptionally busy.”

Norville Park Pool features an Olympic size pool, a toddler splash area and the new water play facility featuring a 2.9 metre water slide and a huge tipping bucket, in addition to the stylish new sun lounges.
