Paragon Theatre owner Merissa Craft said she was excited to host such a talented singer as the doors reopen for the first event due to COVID-19.

“For me personally, this is our first event after being closed for 11 months due to COVID so to have Fanny’s team contact me to play in our theatre was exciting and a great way to re-open with a bang!” Merissa said.

“Also, having someone of her calibre play here in Childers on her Australian Tour is great for our beautiful theatre and also our town as majority of patrons are travelling here for the show.”

Lifted from her chart-topping album Fallow, Fanny has produced a melodic delight to take the community of the Bundaberg Region through the summer night with her song Dig.

Fanny said in a year which has seen many faced a lot of challenges, and Dig was a little welcome relief with its upbeat chorus and positive message.

“Dig came out of a time where I was finding the line between gritting your teeth, digging deeper on something and letting it go of the things we can’t control, a moving target that has only become more relevant as 2019 turned to 2020 and 2020 has worn on,” she said.

“It’s ultimately about finding the joy where you can, and it always peps me up especially when the brass come in!”

Merissa said Fanny’s show would be the first of many as there were plans for a big year at the Paragon Theatre.

“We will be back to hosting live shows, classic films and private groups, so (people) can follow us on Facebook or Instagram or our website to keep an eye out,” she said.
