Views are being sought on new bike and walking paths at the Washpool Creek crossing on Goodwood Road, Walkervale.
The callout comes as the Department of Transport and Main Roads undertakes planning to improve safety for bike riders and pedestrians in the area.
Separated pedestrian and bike paths are being proposed on the north and southbound lanes of Goodwood Road (known locally as Barolin Street) near the Colman Street intersection.
The proposal also includes the reduction of turning movements from Colman Street to Barolin Street to left out only.
Member for Bundaberg Tom Smith said community feedback would be used to develop the plans for safer active transport routes.
“Building safer infrastructure is the best way to encourage people to walk, ride more and be more active,” Mr Smith said.
“Goodwood Road is one of the busiest roads in Bundaberg and that’s why it’s so important to reach out and get that community consultation from locals.”
He said the Bundaberg project came as the State Government invested right across regional Queensland with close to $220 million in new active transport infrastructure.
