Bundaberg based Beemart Enterprises is expanding its reach into central Queensland with the purchase of Rockhampton Food Processors.
Beemart has distribution facilities in Bundaberg, Maryborough and Gladstone, as well as warehouse facilities at the Brisbane Wholesale Markets.
Employing more than 60 people, Beemart also provides growers services to farmers in the Bundaberg area and operates a modern distribution fleet, allowing regular and secure delivery of produce.
Beemart Enterprises General Manager Jason Beeston said the purchase of Rockhampton Fresh Processors marked an exciting chapter in the continued expansion of Beemart.
“We see a real opportunity to build on our proud history and offer our services to food service businesses throughout central Queensland,” Jason said.
“The purchase will also allow us to service clients in western Queensland as well, particularly as we have the logistics capability to service a wide geographical area.”.
For many years Rockhampton Food Processors has supplied fresh and freshly processed fruit and vegetables to restaurants, hospitals, aged care facilities pubs, clubs and local shops.
Spokesperson John Saunders said the business’ sale to Beemart Enterprises, effective from May 10, has been a great outcome.
“Both businesses are based in regional Queensland and share country values and a pride in serving their local communities,” John said.
“Our staff are looking forward to becoming part of the Beemart family.”
Beemart National Channel Manager Rob Pafumi said the purchase of Rockhampton Food Processors extended Beemart’s footprint in central Queensland to serve the wholesale and food service industries.
“Since Beemart partnered with the Brisbane-based Jetbest group last year, we have been able to significantly expand our product lines,” Rob said.
“As well as fresh produce, we now offer our food service customers with a range of pre-packed and gourmet lines.
“We are looking forward to being able to offer these products to businesses in the Rockhampton region.”
