This week Bundaberg painted the town purple to remind the community that Cancer Council Queensland’s iconic fundraiser Relay For Life is back in 2021.

Bundaberg’s Relay For Life is set to hit the tracks on Saturday, 14 August and will bring the community together to celebrate cancer survivorship, remember loved ones lost and fight back against cancer.

This year the Bundaberg/Fraser Coast Relay For Life Committee is aiming to raise $100,000 to support Cancer Council Queensland’s life-saving cancer research, prevention programs and support services.

Cancer Council Queensland CEO Chris McMillan said, Relay For Life is an event where teams come together to raise funds for our vital work and to support the local community affected by cancer.

“I’d love to invite all to join a Bundaberg/Fraser Coast Relay For Life team this year and help create a cancer free future,” said Ms McMillan.

“This is an event for everyone – no matter your age, or fitness level, you can get involved and make a difference.

“So, donate to your local event or register a team today – together, we’re an unstoppable force and can stop cancer in its tracks.”

Participating in Relay For Life is a great way to support the endeavours of Cancer Council Queensland and help make a vital difference right here in your local community.

Relay For Live events stay with you forever. Local coordinators have great entertainment planned for the whole community, as well as empowering ceremonies, like the inspiring opening ceremony, where cancer survivors and their carers kick off the walk.

Support your local community by either registering a team or taking part in the fundraising activities that will be held in the lead up to the event – together we can make a difference.
