Two Bundaberg hotels have been named in the Travellers' Choice Best of the Best 2021 list thanks to hundreds of positive online reviews from visitors to the region.
The annual TripAdvisor list is drawn from experiences at hotels across Australia from the best experts possible: real travellers who’ve been there before.
Out of 304 reviews on TripAdvisor, Villa Mirasol received 227 ‘Excellent' ratings from visitors, with positive comments on the accommodation’s central location, helpful staff and clean rooms.
Owners Evelyn Nielsen and Peter Grant have operated the hotel since 2014 and said they loved every aspect of their role.
“It's all about the amazing travellers who stay with us,” Evelyn said.
“We have met many different people from all over Australia and the world who come to our region to visit our wonderful tourism hotspots like the Great Barrier Reef, Bundaberg Rum Distillery and more.”
Evelyn said she was over the moon to find out Villa Mirasol had been named on the nation-wide list and was proud to provide accommodation that visitors enjoyed.
“It's awesome, fabulous. It is what we strive for,” she said.
“I think what makes us a stand out is our consistency of good service, providing clean rooms and our wonderful staff.”
C Bargara Resort also achieved a high rating in their reviews, with positive comments regarding the beachfront location, competitive rates and great service.
The hotel has 297 reviews on TripAdvisor with 247 rating the accommodation site as ‘Excellent'.
Bundaberg Tourism CEO Katherine Reid congratulated the two accommodation sites on their achievement.
“How wonderful to see two of our local accommodation operators listed in Trip Advisor’s Top 25 Hotels in Australia,” she said.
“It’s testament to both C Bargara and Villa Mirasol’s dedication to delivering an extraordinary visitor experience.
“Travellers have always used other’s recommendations and reviews during the planning stages of any trip with word of mouth traditionally being the most popular answer to the ‘how did you hear about us?’ question.
“These days, with the growth of online review sites like Trip Advisor, the power of customer reviews has multiplied.”
