Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service’s Bundaberg vaccination community hub is offering a special Saturday clinic on June 5.
People should register their interest in receiving the Pfizer vaccine at the Bundaberg TAFE site either via the website or by calling 134COVID.
WBHHS vaccine lead Fiona Sewell said the clinic was opening outside traditional working hours to encourage people to take part in vaccination.
“The special Saturday clinic aims to broaden access to vaccination to more people by providing vaccination at times that suit to members of the Wide Bay community who may find it difficult to get vaccinated during the week,” Ms Sewell said.
“It’s important that people do register for the clinics, as walk ins may have to wait or be rescheduled for another time if the clinic is busy.”
People can register their interest for the Bundaberg vaccine clinic via:

In particular, people who work in aged care, the disability sector and those aged between 40 and 49 are being urged to register so they can be booked in for a vaccination this Saturday.
“Our teams will be prioritising aged care and disability support workers to protect them and the people they work with who are particularly vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19,” Ms Sewell said.
“We really encourage people who work in these sectors to register for an appointment via the website or by calling 134 COVID.
“Now that we have supplies of the Pfizer vaccine, we’re also hoping lots of people in the 40 to 49 age bracket book and come in for an appointment.
“We will also be providing dedicated lanes for these priority groups at our clinics so they can bypass the general line and are prioritised by our vaccination teams.”
Booked appointments are encouraged and will be given first priority.
People who do walk in can expect wait times and if there is no clinic space they will be offered an alternative appointment time.
