Sweet potato lovers rejoice! A festival event featuring the locally-grown vegetable will be held at The Windmill as part of the Taste Bundaberg Festival this month.
Owner Joey Caruana has teamed up with Sweet Potatoes Australia to bring an evening filled with delicious sweet potatoes over three courses at his restaurant in Bargara for the Sweet Potato Featival.
Joey said Windmill Café had been working together with Sweet Potatoes Australia for some time now and was looking forward to co-hosting the event.
“We love working with Sweet Potatoes Australia as we are both family-owned, local businesses and they are a fantastic supporter of local cafes,” Joey said.
“We look forward to featuring a feast of sweet potatoes over a three-course dining experience.”
General Manager at Sweet Potatoes Australia Claire Maslen said the business was thrilled to be co-hosting the Sweet Potato Feastival in conjunction with the Taste Bundaberg Festival for 2021.
“Our team are really excited to be involved with organising the event and from what is already planned, we know it will be an enjoyable evening for all who attend,” Ms Maslen said.
“We’ve had a sneak peek at the menu, which features sweet potatoes in each of the three courses, and we are really looking forward to sharing the night with our friends and family in the Bundaberg community.”
The Sweet Potato Feastival will be held at The Windmill with local performer Ruby Mills set to entertain the crowd.
