New markets to launch across the region

Paradise Markets
Paradise Markets in full swing.

New markets are being launched in the Bundaberg Region with the Branyan Street Hand Crafted Markets and the Yandaran Markets both kicking off across the weekend.

Both markets will be showcasing local stallholders with the weekly Paradise Markets also continuing at Bargara.

Each of the markets offer a different variety of stalls and products for visitors from fresh produce through to craft and more.

The new Branyan Street Handcrafted Markets are being held at the Precision Healthcare Centre Carpark for the first time this Saturday, 19 June.

Branyan Hand Crafted Markets organiser Cherie Currell said the markets were showcasing a range of local stallholders.

She said she would love to see as many people as possible down to support the morning.

“With the Bargara markets doing so well, Charmaine was approached to start a second market and so we decided to start the Branyan Street Hand Crafted Markets,” Ms Currell said.

“Come down and get a coffee from the coffee van and support the local stallholders with a range of stalls including resin art, relish and chutneys and jewellery attending.

“We still have some stall space and would love to have a fruit and vegetable stall and a plant stall.”

The markets aim to be held twice monthly from 9am to 2pm on Saturdays with the second market for the month to be held on Saturday, 26 June.

Cherie said the new Branyan Street Handcrafted Markets were just one of the exciting market events being held over the weekend, also highlighting events at Yandaran and Bargara.

Yandaran Hotel
Abbie Grayson and Collin Ahern have recently purchased the Yandaran Hotel and will reopen its doors after 541 days without a beer being served.

The new Yandaran Markets will launch on Sunday afternoon at the Yandaran Hotel from 12pm – 4pm.

New owners Abbie Grayson and Collin Ahern kick off the first event of its kind at the iconic pub with live music and food from the licensed country café on offer.

Abbie said there had already been plenty of interest surrounding the markets and the event was set to be the perfect opportunity for creative locals to sell their wares.

“It has become apparent that there is a need for a local, regular community event in the area,” she said.

“There are so many artists and home gardeners and it's a great opportunity for these lovely people to sell their items and get together with like-minded neighbours at the same time.”

The markets will continue to be held on the third Sunday of each month.

The Historical Motorcycle Club will be stopping in at the Paradise Markets.

At Bargara, the Paradise Markets will continue on Sundays from 8am to 1pm, hosting the Historical Motorcycle Club this Sunday, 20 June.

You can enjoy live music from local Peter Sajko along with breakfast and coffee while getting all your fresh fruit and vegetables and browse the range of market stalls.

The range of markets happening across the weekend provide the perfect excuse to explore the region and support local producers.
