Work to the Spring Lakes Resort development in Avoca is 90% complete.

Civil works are nearing completion for the Spring Lakes Resort with an intersection upgrade underway as part of development works for the Avoca lifestyle village and aged care facility.

The works have started at the intersection of Avoca Road and River Springs Drive, near Spring Lakes Resort, closing part of the area to traffic for about eight weeks.

During this period, traffic movements along Avoca Road will be completely closed, however single lane passage to and from River Springs Drive will remain available for local traffic under traffic control operation of one lane only.

Appropriate detour signage and traffic control will be installed to assist motorists.

Approved in 2019, Spring Lakes Resort is Bundaberg’s first over 50s riverfront resort.

With 175 villas built over eight stages, the development is designed for residents to enjoy an active retirement with a large recreational clubhouse including a gym, library/billiard room, art and craft room, 32-seat cinema, two pools, a resident’s kitchen and bar, lawn bowls, bocce lawn and workshop.

There is also extensive walking paths, hiking tracks and a 160-tree citrus orchard.

Spring Lakes Resort is the region's newest retirement and lifestyle village.

Project manager Grant Botica said civil construction was moving along nicely, with about 90% of the works now complete.

“The main entry is completely landscaped with our security gates installed,” he said.

“We have finished our first six villas and have another six well underway and due to be completed in October.

“The community facilities are also fast approaching completion.”

Grant said two residents had already moved into the new lifestyle village, with feedback extremely positive from all those who had visited the area.

“Potential residents cannot believe how spacious the resort feels from so many aspects,” he said.

“The elevated terraced land form is immediately evident from the minute you enter through the resort’s automatic gates.

Spring Lakes Resort is situated in Avoca.

“Then there is the sense of openness which is even more evident from the clubhouse where it sits proudly overlooking the 29 acres of manicured open space flanking the Burnett River, McCoys Creek with the tranquil spring fed lake in the foreground.”

Grant said the development not only catered to those looking for a relaxed space to live, but would also feature a residential care facility as part of future works.

“Another huge benefit our customers like about Spring Lakes Resort is the future 90 bed residential care facility approved on site,” he said.

“This provides our residents with the option to stay on site if they ever need high level care.”
