The Palm Lake Resort Garage Art Group exhibition A Brighter Outlook will be on display at the Gin Gin Regional Courthouse Gallery from Saturday, 7 August.

This is the fourth annual exhibition for the group with this year’s exhibition called “A Brighter Outlook”, showcasing artworks that represent looking forward to a brighter future.

The exhibition is full of colour, ideas and inspiration, leaving the greyness of the pandemic behind.

Member of the Palm Lakes Resort Art Group Ngari Pearce said the group had a hope that the future will be brighter which is the inspiration behind the exhibition.

“This exhibition titled “A Brighter Outlook” reflects the future and moving away from the pandemic,’ Ms Pearce said.

“It comprises of a variety of subject matter, medium and techniques, and displays each members individuality.”

The group have come together from a range of backgrounds, all with a love for art.

“We are a group of 10 ladies with a common interest in art, who all reside at Palm Lake Resort,” Ms Pearce said.

“We describe ourselves as a motley crew who hale from all corners of the country and have been meeting every Friday afternoon for the last four to five years, to encourage and support each other and share a lot of laughter.”

Palm Lakes Resort has an art room available for use although the group required a bit more room which is when Ngari converted her extra-large garage into a workshop studio.

“Palm Lakes Resort provide an art room for all to use, and monthly tuition, but we were wanting to explore different techniques where we required more room, hence the move to my converted garage “Studio 391” and the birth of our group title “PLR GARAGE ART',” Ms Pearce said.

The group look forward to showcasing their work at the Gin Gin Courthouse Gallery for the fourth year, with the gallery providing the perfect space for people to enjoy the exhibition.

“We appreciate the opportunity to exhibit at the Gin Gin Courthouse Gallery once again as it is a great venue and visiting here offers people an enjoyable outing in the country.”
