Monster Garage Sale to support Legacy

Monster Garage Sale
Legacy Bundaberg Inc's Monster Garage Sale will be held next Saturday.

There will be treasures galore to trawl through at the upcoming Bundaberg Legacy Inc. Monster Garage Sale which will raise funds to help support families of veterans.

The fundraising initiative is part of the local group's calendar for Legacy Week 2021.

The annual appeal has been running since the 1940s and is a time for all Australians to show their support for the widows and children whose loved ones have served the country.

Bundaberg Legacy Inc administration officer Troy Daubaras said volunteers had been sorting through donated items from the community in the months leading up to the Monster Garage Sale.

“The community have been very generous in supplying quality donations for our garage sale,” he said.

“We have been overwhelmed with support.”

Troy said the event would offer all sorts of unique and interesting items for sale, including porcelain dolls, printed fans and more.

“There have been a lot of interesting items given to us,” he said.

“One of the most interesting things that I have seen donated is a large matchbox collection.

“There's definitely something for everyone.”

Troy said the Monster Garage Sale will be one of many events held in the region as part of Legacy Week 2021, with all proceeds raised to go towards supporting local beneficiaries.

“You might see volunteers at your local shopping centre who are collecting money and selling badges for the annual Legacy Week Appeal,” he said.

“There will also be the Annual Golf Day at the Bundaberg Golf Club on Saturday, 4 September.”
