Iconic Bundaberg business celebrates 53 years

Bundaberg Brewed Drinks
The Bundaberg Brewed Drinks family are celebrating over five decades of business.

The team at Bundaberg Brewed Drinks have combined a celebration of 53 years in business with National Family Business Day today, enjoying over 250 Ginger Beer cupcakes.

The Australian-owned company has teamed up with the local Queensland Country Woman’s Association (QCWA) to bake delicious treats using the famous brew for each of their Bundaberg-based team members.

Bundaberg Brewed Drinks’ CEO John McLean explained the day was important to the company because it reflected a big part of their recipe for success.

“We are a fourth-generation business who are incredibly proud to be celebrating 53 years of family ownership,” Mr McLean said.

“We believe a big part of our success has been our ability to grow the business internationally whilst maintaining strong entrenched family values — this is non-negotiable for us.”

For more than 50 years Bundaberg Brewed Drinks has kept tradition at heart, brewing to traditional recipes, using time-honoured brewing methods, and the best quality ingredients.

Guided by the rule, “If it’s worth brewing; it’s worth brewing well,” the company craft brews their drinks for up to seven days to capture the refreshing taste of real ingredients inside every bottle and can.

Mr McLean said National Family Business Day wasn’t just about the company alone.

“We have many mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, fathers and daughters, mothers and sons, uncles and aunties in the team — all 200 employees are seen as an extended family with the same level of respect,” he said.

“We are celebrating this community-driven ethos, which permeates throughout the business with ‘family’ at the heart of everything we do, ensuring there is a little bit of Bundaberg magic in every brew consumed around the world.

Bundaberg Brewed Drinks thanked the Bundaberg CWA branch, and president Denise Shearer, for helping to make the day so special with Bundaberg Brewed Drinks cupcakes.

“We owe a lot to the town we share our name with and are committed to supporting the local community.”
