Huge response to Anything Goes art exhibition

Anything Goes
Bundaberg Art Society president Marilyn Batty said artists were able to dabble in anything that took their fancy for the final 2021 exhibition Anything Goes.

It will be a full house at Bundaberg Art Society’s Hazzard Gallery as 117 artworks will be displayed in the last exhibition for the year, Anything Goes.

Bundaberg Art Society president Marilyn Batty said artists were able to dabble in anything that took their fancy for the final 2021 exhibition.

She said it was an amazing effort to have such a large end-of-year exhibition, especially as they had more entries than they do members.

“We have 112 members and 117 original works on show – something for everyone,” she said.

“There isn’t a spare hook or wire left in the place – I’m amazed by the entries.

“This is one of the biggest exhibitions we have had.”

Marilyn said because of the flexible theme local artists let their imaginations run wild.

“Without a theme our talented artists have been allowed free reign to create whatever they like in any medium; Paintings, pastels, watercolours, sculptures, mosaics, glassware, woven baskets and lots more,” she said.

Anything Goes
The Anything Goes exhibition will be open this Saturday and Sunday (20-21 November) 9 am to 2 pm and thereafter every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday form 9 am to noon, until 19 December.

“This has been a very exciting exhibition to curate with such a range of mediums, and I am very proud of our talented members results.

“All of the artworks will be for sale, and the giftshop is fully stocked with Christmas gift ideas.

“It’s a great chance for locals to take the opportunity to buy locally from local artists.”

The Anything Goes exhibition will be open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 am to noon, until 19 December.

Hazzard Gallery is located at 95c Walker Street, for more information phone Marilyn on 0487 324 291.
