Move with Women, a free group exercise program for women 18 and over, is coming to Bundaberg in February 2022.

An initiative of the Australian Government, Move with Women was developed as part of ‘Driving Social Inclusion through Physical Activity’.

The program is funded by the Department of Health and is supported by Diabetes NSW and ACT.

Move with Women has been designed as a fun, social and motivating program to help women focus on their overall health and wellbeing.

Run by qualified physiologists the program covers exercise, healthy eating and techniques to relieve stress and anxiety.

Joannah Braham is an accredited exercise physiologist who has been involved in the development of Move with Women and said the program was for all levels of fitness.

“It doesn’t matter what fitness level people are at because the program is designed for women at all different life stages,” she said.

“Inclusivity is a big feature of the program so it’s also a great way for women to connect with and get support from others who are on a similar health journey.

“Move for Women offers women the chance to focus on their health in an inclusive and friendly environment.

“It’s a great way to get active to meet new people, create friendships and connect with other women.”

Move with Women will be running at:

Snap Fitness, 19 Maryborough Street, on Wednesday 2 February 2022 at 1.30 pm.

The program includes nine weekly group exercise sessions with additional health education sessions run each fortnight.

Each participant receives a one on one consultation and goal setting session with an exercise physiologist.

They also participate in group exercise classes suitable to their fitness level and receive a resistance band and participant book which includes activity and health information specific to women.

At the end of the program each participant will receive an assessment that includes a future plan and catch up with an exercise physiologist.
