Playhouse Theatre’s first play to hit the stage in 2022 is Drop Dead.

The Playhouse Theatre’s first play to hit the stage in 2022 is Drop Dead, which has been described as a non-stop physical comedy that turns the world of theatre on its head.

Director Nigel Dick said he thinks audiences will really join in the fun of the madcap plot.

“A cast of has-been actors plan to revive their careers in ‘Drop Dead!', a potboiler murder mystery directed by “Wonder Child of the Broadway Stage” Victor Le Pewe (a psychotic eye twitching megalomaniac)”, Nigel said.

“At the dress rehearsal the set falls, props break, and the producer and an actor are murdered. During the opening night performance, the murders continue.

“The remaining thespians must save the show and their careers, solve the mystery and stay alive for the curtain call.

“The cast has had so much fun in rehearsals and I’m sure that will spill over into the audience.”

Drop Dead was written by Billy Van Zandt and Jane Milmore and has been a hit around the world.

It hits the Bundaberg stage, with some of the Playhouse’s most experienced actors, along with fresh new talent, for 6 performances: March 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 at 7:30pm, with a matinee Sunday March 20 at 3:00pm.
