The Bundaberg Recreational Precinct will be roaring with the sound of motorbike madness when the Nitro Circus: You Got This tour kicks off on Sunday.
The explosive, high adrenaline action sports spectacular will star athletes in FMX, BMX, skate, scooter and more as they attempt crazy stunts and push the limits with record-breaking attempts.
Bundaberg Region Mayor Jack Dempsey welcomed the high-profile event to the region and said Sunday’s performance would be a great afternoon out for the whole family.
“Nitro Circus is a fantastic show that is sure to get audience members’ hearts racing as the skilled professionals take to the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct to showcase their talent,” he said.
“While the event was postponed previously due to Covid restrictions, we are finally able to welcome the Nitro Circus team to Bundaberg for what I hear is going to be an adrenalin-pumping show.
“This is just one of many fantastic events heading to the region this year!”
Local businesses are getting in on the Nitro Circus excitement, including the team at Bundaberg Outdoor Power Centre.
The shop on Production Street stocks a range of FMX equipment and bikes, with staff member Chris Kelly an avid rider.
“I have been riding since I was three, I love everything about it – the exhilaration and excitement, everything,” he said.
“Owning a motorcycle in general, you learn a lot of things not only about riding but about maintaining it, preparation before and after the ride etc.”
Chris said an event like Nitro Circus showed the versatility of motocross and how it could range from being enjoyed as a family sport to a full-scale production.
“I think it brings awareness to the sport itself, people don’t realise the things that can be done on motorcycles,” he said.
“Nitro Circus is definitely an extreme form of motorcycling- it brings a bit of excitement.
“On the other hand, motocross is also an excellent family activity, it promotes good healthy fun for the weekends, travelling, camping and more.”
Bundaberg physio Shaun Lynch is the medical manager for athletes in Nitro Circus and said he was thrilled to have the show stop by his town.
“Over March we have been slowly touring the east coast of Australia and Bundy will be the final stop on the tour,” he said.
“It’s awesome because the Nitro Circus is literally bringing some of the best athletes in the world to Bundy.”
Nitro Circus Live will be held at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct this Sunday.
