Australian alternative rock band Eskimo Joe will perform at Sounds of Rock 2022 when the local festival kicks off in May.
The Black Fingernails, Red Wine musicians will add the Rum City to their tour list after being called in at the last minute to take the place of Boom Crash Opera, who pulled out citing personal reasons.
Organiser Trevor Sands from NUI Events said he was thrilled Eskimo Joe had made time in their schedule to support the festival.
“We contacted Eskimo Joe, because they are just about to start their Australian tour, and they jumped at the opportunity to come to Bundaberg,” he said.
“They are awesome and are such an iconic Aussie band so it’s great to add them to the lineup.
“It will bring another genre of fans to this event.”
Eskimo Joe will share the Sounds of Rock stage with the likes of Hoodoo Gurus, Killing Heidi, Richard Clapton, Dragon, Glenn Shorrock, Ganggajang and Eurogliders at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct on Saturday 7 May.
Local businesses continue their support of Sounds of Rock
Trevor said plans for the event were coming along nicely and local businesses were continuing to offer their support.
He said Bout Time Music had recently donated three electric guitars to be signed by the festival’s musicians while at the event and then gifted to major sponsors.
Bout Time Music’s Greg Baxter said he was thrilled to offer his support to Sounds of Rock.
“We went to last year’s event and it was fantastic, just seeing Aussie rock icons here in Bundaberg is great,” he said.
