Do you know how to use your yellow lidded wheelie bin correctly?

Recycling might seem simple enough, but do you really know what you can and can’t place in your yellow lidded wheelie bin?

Bundaberg Regional Council’s Waste and Recycling team have put together a list of hints and tips to help you ensure you are using the kerbside recycling bin correctly.

  • Leave recyclables loose (do not place in bag)
  • Fold boxes to save space
  • Remove lids from drink bottles and containers
  • No need to crush cans and tins
  • Rinse recyclables
Items you can recycle include steel and aluminium, paper and carboard and plastic and glass jars and bottles.

Do not place the following items in your yellow lidded bin:

  • Polystyrene
  • Food scraps
  • Glassware
  • Tupperware
  • Plastic bags
  • Soft plastics
  • Shredded paper

  1. Get someone to go door to door like 10 cent Tom on the Gold Coast then the bulk of it will go to state government facilities instead of the already over capacity council facility & you can make some money.
