Artists with strong connections to the Bundaberg region are encouraged to submit their applications for the upcoming HERE + now exhibition.

Artists with strong connections to the Bundaberg region are encouraged to submit their applications for the upcoming HERE + now 2022 exhibition.

The exhibition, which will be on display at the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery from Friday 19 August is all about celebrating artists from the Bundaberg Region and showcasing its strong and vibrant visual arts community.

Applications are open until Thursday 30 June with a range of mediums accepted including 2D, 3D and digital works.

Bundaberg Regional Council Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said exhibitions like HERE + now 2022 are a fantastic way for up and coming artists within the region to showcase their works.

“It is great to see the HERE + now exhibition running again for a fourth year, providing an opportunity for local artists to see their works put together as part of an exhibition,” Cr Learmonth said.

“The galleries team does a wonderful job of fostering local talent throughout the region, with this being just one of the many opportunities available to local artisans.

“I am looking forward to seeing the exhibition come together, and the range of different works that will be on display as part of it.”

It is important that those who apply meet the following criteria:

• The artist must reside in, or have a strong affiliation with, the Bundaberg Region
• The artwork must have been created after 1 July 2021
• All visual art forms are welcome, including 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional and digital works
• Only one artwork submission per EOI form

HERE + now 2022 will be displayed in Gallery Two at the Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery, from Friday 19 August to Sunday 13 November.

The key dates for HERE + now 2022 entrants to be aware of include:

• 19 June: Applications close
• 30 June: Artists selected for exhibition are notified
• 19 August: Exhibition opens to the public
• 13 November: Exhibition closes

Please note: the final selection of artworks for the exhibition is at the discretion of Bundaberg Regional Galleries and based on the contribution of the artwork to the curational intent of the exhibition.
