Community members interested in tertiary education will have hundreds of courses to choose from at the upcoming CQU Open Day.

CQUniversity's Bundaberg campus will open its doors to future students for the university’s annual Open Day on Thursday 11 August 2022.

With more than 250 study options on offer at CQU, ranging from short courses, certificates, and diplomas to undergraduate, postgraduate and research higher degrees, prospective students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of pathways and courses across multiple disciplines and modes of delivery.

CQUniversity’s Associate Vice-President Bundaberg Region Luke Sinclair said the CQU Open Day event was a great way for those interested in tertiary education to discover firsthand what it’s like to study at university.

“The Find Future You information sessions will help attendees learn more about CQU, how we can support you to be what you want to be and walk you through your next steps in getting there,” he said.

“For more personal support, visitors can also grab a treat or something to drink at the Careers Café and speak to support staff about their career goals, how to apply, entry pathways and anything they need to know about studying.”

Mr Sinclair also said there would be interactive activities across the campus facilities from a range of study areas including in selected labs and learning spaces.

“Featured sessions will cover some of our most popular courses here on the Bundaberg campus including allied health, nursing, engineering, agriculture and digital media,” he said.

“Here you can chat one-on-one with our expert lecturers and teaching teams to find out more about courses of interest and future career pathways.

“There will also be opportunities to learn more about enabling education and the many vocational study options on the campus.

“Prospective students can also find out more about CQUniversity’s many support services including careers, wellbeing and counselling, scholarships and Indigenous student engagement.”

CQU Open Day is a free event open to the entire community.

A full event program can be found here.

Those planning to attend can register online for a welcome pack on arrival and automatic prize draw entry to win an Apple MacBook Air, Apple Watch SE or Apple Airpods.

For those unable to attend, or those who still have more questions, a virtual CQU Open Day event will be held on Saturday, 27 August from 9 am to 1 pm to help answer questions from wherever you are.
