The Department of Transport and Main Roads’ (TMR) Wide Bay Burnett District has a number of construction projects underway on the Bruce Highway over the coming months.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is currently undertaking safety works at various locations along the Bruce Highway in the Wide Bay Burnett District.

To assist motorists to plan their travels and potentially seek alternative routes, TMR have provided a map of approximate locations of major planned works and estimated travel delays.

The Bruce Highway safety works begin in Wallaville where an extra five to ten minutes of travel time is encouraged.

Three sites near Booyal will be undertaking culvert works, with another five to ten minutes extra travel time expected for each.

Heading towards Apple Tree Creek and Childers, further safety upgrades are in place.

The work then continues into Torbanlea, Saltwater Creek and Gootchie.

Motorists can call 13 19 40 for regular and up-to-date information or road closures and events or check qldtraffic.qld.gov.au before travelling.
