Help to reduce the glow for the region's nesting turtles as part of Milbi Festival's Turtle Hour event.

Bundaberg’s coastline hosts the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on the east coast of Australia and is home to 50 per cent of endangered loggerhead turtle breeding activity in the South Pacific Ocean.

Turtle Hour is an opportunity for residents to think about how they can reduce lighting impacts to support turtles navigating to and from the ocean.

Anyone interested in being part of the annual event can get involved by simply turning off the lights from 7 pm to 8 pm on 31 October.

This event is hosted in support of Bundaberg Regional Council’s Reducing Urban Glow initiative.
