New Gin Gin path connects community

Bundaberg Regional Council is constructing a new concrete pathway at the corner of Milden Street and May Street, Gin Gin.

An existing pathway at the corner of Milden Street and May Street in Gin Gin will soon be upgraded to improve connectivity to nearby schools, pools and infrastructure.

Work has commenced on 10 January and will be undertaken weekdays, during the hours of 6 am and 5 pm.

Weather permitting, work will be completed within six weeks.

Roads and Drainage portfolio spokesperson Cr Bill Trevor said the pathway construction was part of Bundaberg Regional Council's Pathway Renewal Program.

“The existing pathway was in poor condition and was considered inadequate for this vital link between Gin Gin State Primary School and the Gin Gin Swimming Pool,” he said.

“Once completed, the new pathway will also improve access from the adjacent school angled parking bays and gate entrances.”

During construction, sections of the roads will be subject to traffic management measures and will have the appropriate signage to guide motorists.

Bundaberg Regional Council is aware of the inconvenience construction work causes and thanks residents and road users in advance for their patience and co-operation.
