Expressions of interest are now open for Childers Festival stallholders, with a discount offered to those in the 4660 postcode.

Local businesses are being encouraged to showcase their products at the upcoming Childers Festival, with expressions of interest now open for the 2023 event.

The popular Bundaberg Regional Council festival closes down the highway once a year during July with more than 40,000 people in attendance.

Arts, Culture and Events portfolio spokesperson Cr John Learmonth said it was a great opportunity for the local business community to reach a wider customer base.

“Having local business on show is an important part of the Childers Festival and Council's role in supporting small business,” he said.

“Our region is filled with creative people and we want to make sure they have the opportunity to showcase their work within the festival.”

Cr Learmonth said a 50 per cent stallholder site fee discount would be available to those in the 4660 postcode.

“We offer discounted fees to Childers residents to help us highlight locally made, produced and curated products,” he said.

“It's simple to register your interest, just fill in the form with your details and someone from Council's events team will be in touch.”

The site fees go towards the rising cost of the operational requirement of delivering this iconic festival which closes the Bruce Highway.

Stallholder fees for those in the 4660 postcode cost 3mx3m site $144.50 and 6mx3m site $289.
