With the new school year underway Officeworks has launched its 2023 Back to School Appeal, marking 10 years of partnership with The Smith Family to support students who need it most.

Since Officeworks and The Smith Family first joined forces in 2013, Officeworks’ customers and team members have contributed more than $6.5 million through the Back to School Appeal.

The initiative enables almost 10,000 students across Australia to be supported through the Learning for Life scholarship program for an entire year.

This year, more than ever, many are relying on this support.

Bundaberg store business manager Melanie Albert said cost of living increases affecting the price of essentials such as food and fuel were contributing to financial hardship and to the challenges already faced by families.

“We’re asking the community to support Officeworks’ Back to School Appeal during their back to school shop this year, a fundraiser which supports The Smith Family’s Learning for Life sponsorship program,” she said.

“The program provides students with financial support for school essentials, personal support to complete their education and practical support to mentor their learning.”

Customers can support the appeal in-store or online throughout January with all funds raised going to help families in need afford the cost of their child’s essential school supplies,.

The appeal also provides personal support and extra educational programs to help students stay motivated and connected to their learning.
