Members of the Bundaberg 4WD Club Inc. recently donated to the Open Door Support Services from fundraising efforts held over the past twelve months.

Each year our club nominates a local charity that we raise funds for by sales of our annual Fundraising Calendar that features club members out and about on activities.

Along with sales of the calendar we have our annual Ladies Day Drive where the ladies get to do the driving.

If the vehicle does not have a lady to drive the significant other has to don a dress or pay a fine.

Fines take place during the day and add to the total.

A raffle was also run with thanks to the local businesses that supported us in the way of prizes.

It was decided to donate to this particular charity after two of our own club members lost a brother, uncle and club supporter to suicide early last year.

Our efforts raised $1300 to support a charity that supports those going through tough times.

Open Door Support Services is a Bundaberg Region based organisation that provides a range of personalised services to enable peoples recovery.

They specialise in NDIS mental health support, suicide prevention and postvention support including training and community awareness.

They also support people on a one-to-one therapeutic basis, peer support, family and   group dynamic and offer specialist workshops for staff and organisations.

Open Door Support Services support other community organisations too, and are proud members of Bundaberg Headspace Consortia and the Bundaberg Regional Suicide Prevention Network.

The funds will also support Brave Brothers Ltd, a local charity whose purpose is to advance health, social and public welfare by undertaking various activities such as supporting men’s heath, wellbeing, and Domestic violence awareness.
