Bundaberg Region residents have an opportunity to win a brand new caravan thanks to Takalvans Bundaberg and New Age Caravans generous support of the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.
The raffle was launched at the Mayor’s Beach Ball last weekend, and tickets are now available for the community to purchase at Bundaberg Services Club.
Just 1,000 tickets are available, priced at $100 each, with proceeds supporting the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal which raises funds to provide hampers, gifts and vouchers to those in need.
Takalvans Bundaberg co-owner Dale Rethamel said they were pleased to be able to support the appeal.
“It’s always fantastic to get behind a local cause, to support the mayor, and to be able to bring a bit of goodwill and festivity to people at Christmas time when some people are doing a little bit tough,” he said.
“Takalvans as a business has always been a supporter of the community, we’ve always tried our best to put our best foot forward to help people, particularly those in need.
“And at Christmas time, it’s a time where everyone should celebrate family, and those that are less fortunate than us sometimes need a little bit of assistance to make that period of year as enjoyable as it can be.”
The raffle prize is a New Age Manta Ray 2024 model two-person caravan that Dale said would be capable of being towed behind most vehicles.
“It’s a great little caravan, it’s got everything in there that you need,” he said.
“I’m sure whoever the new owner is, they will have a fantastic time in the caravan.”
Mayor Helen Blackburn said she was delighted Takalvans had come on board to support the appeal.
“What a fantastic prize Takalvans have provided, I’m sure the raffle will generate a lot of interest,” Mayor Blackburn said.
“Most importantly, it will raise much needed funds for local families and residents in need this Christmas.
“We will draw the raffle at this year’s Pageant of Lights, so it will be a very exciting Christmas for one lucky winner.”
Mayor’s Christmas Appeal Sponsorship packages are available at bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels, which offer a range of incentives in return for supporting the appeal.
Community members and businesses can also donate at Family Hamper level, a contribution of $100 that assists one family in the region.
