We had a game in the mens B grade Pairs which resulted in a win to Rob Jones and John Robinson over Tony Evans and Rob Anderson.

In strong wind, rather trying conditions Robbie Royan and Phil Neilson took out the winning rink draw.
Sunday 29.09.2024: Paddle pop triples with a game in the Mens B grade pairs also played.
Firstly the competition game and what a game it was, worthy of being a final.
Team Christo: Werner Hass and Trevor Christensen against team Rogerson: Dean Clarke and Paul Rogerson.
After a game of changing fortunes at end twenty the score was equal at 16 all.
The social bowlers having finished their games were all there to see the final crucial closing minutes of what was an amazing match up!
Team Christo took a three to clinch the win, both skips, Trevor Christensen and Paul Rogerson should be commended for picking up two new bowlers and introducing them into the competition arena!
Werner and Dean were both on such a high after playing in such a hard fought game in their first introduction to serious competition!

Members are asked to check the Competition draws and arrange games by mutual agreement where possible. Competitions can now be played on a Sunday on QRI Bowls days. The next two QRI Sundays are Sunday 6th October & Sunday 27th October (Green will be cut & rolled if 3 or more games are played). If arranging a game, please let the GD know.

ANDERSON SHIELD
The Inter Club Anderson Shield is being played this weekend. The event consists of 2 teams of four from each Club in the District playing in a knockout competition. Games will be played at Burnett and Moore Park on Saturday afternoon with the Semi-Finals and Final being played at Burnett on Sunday.
The players/teams representing Burnett will be posted on the Club Noticeboard on Tuesday.

Wednesday 2nd October: ‘Scroungers’ Singles – has been put on hold until further notice.
Thursday 3rd October: Free Coaching/Practice Drills. Every Thursday commencing at 2.15pm there will be bowls drills/activities set up for anyone that wants to improve their game. The session is suited to all ability levels and is open to all Burnett members, visitors or members from other Clubs. One on one Coaching is also available upon request – see Keith Whalley. Everyone is welcome.
Thursday 3rd October: Night Bowls – bowls start at 6.30pm, names in by 6pm. Bowl under lights and enjoy a fun filled night with a chance at the ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot which will be $567+ this week. Visitors and those that want to try bowls for the first time will be made to feel very welcome.

Club opening hours: Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 11.00am – 9.30pm, Thursday 2.00pm – 9.30pm, Friday 10.00am – 9.30pm, Saturday 10.00am – 6pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2.00pm.
The Goose Club raffle will be drawn on Friday night 4th October at 7pm – Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased during the week from the Bar staff or on Friday night. There are 15 great prizes to be won – you need to be in it to win it! Proceeds from the raffle help to support your Club.
The Member’s Draw will also be held on Friday night 4th October and stands at $50, so come along, have a meal and a few drinks with the chance to win some great cash and prizes.
There will be live entertainment on Friday 4th October presented by ‘The Other Bloke’ and the following Friday 11th October entertainment will be provided by ‘Old Habits’. Members, Guests, and Visitors are always welcome.
