Tuesday 14.01.2025: Ladies Day:
A hot day here at beautiful Woodgate Bowls Club for our Ladies.Only one winning rink: rink 11: Karen Henderson, Suzanne Weir & Lorelle Mattson Four of our Ladies under the guidance of Vice President Fiona Dowling, travelled to Bargara Bowls Club to support their Annual Friendship Day.
A day to raise money for cancer research, and raise money they did over $1500.00 profit for the afternoon.
It was a sea of pink out on the greens, so many different shades of pink in fact.
Our Ladies played extremely well having a good win over a top Bargara side in extremely hot conditions! Well done Ladies you did us proud!

COMPETITION
Competition Draws for the 2025 Championship Singles, Pairs and Fours as well as the Mixed Pairs are on the Noticeboard. Members are encouraged to start organising games by mutual agreement. Reminder: Round 1 of the Championship Pairs must be played on or before Saturday 8th February and Round 2 must be played on or before Saturday15th February.

Thursday 23rd January: Night Bowls – names in by 6.00pm ready for a 6.30pm start. Anyone wishing to try Bowls for the first time will be most welcome. Great way to beat the heat and to meet new people. The ‘Pick the Joker’ Jackpot is played each week with the chance to win some cash.
Friday 24th January: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.
Saturday 25th January: Open Pairs – Men’s, Ladies, Mixed. Names in by 12pm, green fees paid by 12.30pm for a 1 pm start.
COMING EVENTS
Sunday 26th January: AUSTRALIA DAY OPEN PAIRS – 2 games of 14 ends (3 bowl Pairs) 1.00pm start. Winners $360, 2nd $260, 3rd $200. Highest margin game 1 – $150, Highest margin game 2 – $150, Lucky loser card game 1 – $150, Lucky loser card game 2 – $150. Entry fee: $40 per team (includes sausage sizzle for afternoon tea). Sunday 26th January: In conjunction with the Open Pairs, there will be SOCIAL play commencing at 1.00pm. This will be Pairs or Triples depending on nominations received. Open to all bowlers regardless of ability level. Green fees will be $13 which also includes the sausage sizzle at afternoon tea. Prizes will be awarded for the lucky winners. Nominate on the sheet at the Club or phone the Club on 41514217 during opening hours.

CLUB NEWS
Club opening hours are – Monday (Club closed), Tuesday 10am – 5.30pm, Wednesday 11am – 9pm, Thursday 2pm – 9pm, Friday 10am – 9pm, Saturday 10am – 6pm (10pm for Functions) Sunday Bowls Days 9am – 2pm.
Friday 24th January – the Goose Club raffle will be drawn at 7.00pm – tickets are $1 each with 15+ prizes to be won. Tickets can be purchased from the bar or bought on the night. The members draw will be conducted after the Goose Club draw and is currently $330 – members must be present at the draw to claim the cash. Live entertainment on Friday evening will be provided by ‘Frost Bite’. So come down to the Club for a great night out with the chance to win some cash and raffle prizes.
