Notice is given under section 22 of the Planning Act 2016, that Bundaberg Regional Council at its meeting held 21 February 2025 decided to make a Planning scheme policy for the Elliott Heads local plan area.
The purpose and general effect of the proposed planning scheme policy is to provide an interim local planning framework to guide the future development of emerging community land at Elliott Heads until the local plan provisions are incorporated within the Planning Scheme and Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP) through later planning scheme amendments.
The proposed planning scheme policy includes outcomes (assessment benchmarks) to guide assessable development within the Emerging community zone at Elliott Heads, being land broadly bounded by Elliott Heads Road, Atkinsons Road, Shine Street, Welch Street, Moore Street, Saunders Street and the Elliott River foreshore.
The proposed planning scheme policy is available for inspection and purchase at Council’s Development counter at the Auswide Building, Level 6, 16-20 Barolin Street, Bundaberg Central. The proposed amendment can also be viewed online and downloaded at
ourbundabergregion.com.au.
Any person may make a written submission about any aspect of the proposed planning scheme policy. For a written submission to be properly made, it must:
• be made in writing
• include the name and address of each person making the submission
• be signed by each person making the submission, unless the submission is made electronically
• state the grounds of the submission and the facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds
• be received by Bundaberg Regional Council by 4.45 pm on Monday, 31 March 2025.
