Each year the Bundaberg 4WD Club members choose a charity to fundraise for via the sales of our annual calendar, which highlights club activities.
We also donate any proceeds from our ladies day drive, which is a fun day where the ladies drive, and if not the males dress accordingly or pay a fine.
Recently we were proud to donate $1100 to the Angels Community Group.
The Angels Community Group launched their School Lunch Program nine years ago, starting with just 16 lunches at a single school.
Today, they are proud to supply over 280 lunches each week across nearly 20 schools.
While it is sad that such a need exists, they are grateful to be in a position to help.
Time wise it is tough, financially it is ever harder but going to school without lunch, being hungry and trying to learn would be even harder.
At Angels, they believe that every child deserves to feel equal at school, and having access to a nutritious lunch is a basic need no child should go without.
Sue Tasker, the Manager of Operations and Chelsea Samuels, the School Lunch Program Coordinator, advised that “although Angels Community Group primarily funds this program themselves, generous donations like this from the Bundaberg 4WD Club make it possible for them to continue delivering lunches each week.”
They are deeply thankful for the support that allows us to keep making a difference in the lives of children.
