Bundaberg entrepreneur Gracie Bailey has spread her campaign of kindness even further by donating some of her handmade keyrings to the Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre.
Gracie creates the keyrings with her mother Kath Bailey and support workers, which she sells at local events and markets.
Divisional Representative Councillor Deb Keslake said the keyrings were a welcome donation to the Gin Gin community.
“Gracie does a wonderful job creating her keyrings and spreading her message of kindness across the region,” Cr Keslake said.
“It is so generous of her to share these with our local community and I’m sure they will bring a smile to the faces of everyone who receives them.”
Ability in every disability
Kath said that following Gracie’s diagnosis of Down syndrome and Autism, the message behind her keyrings was that there is ability in every disability.
“Gracie wanted to spread her kindness to more people,” Kath said.
“The Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre is a great community hub for people in Gin Gin, so it was a great place to start.
“We love seeing all the activities, the sense of community and the friendships there, it’s a wonderful place for the people of Gin Gin to connect with each other.”
Kath said they started Gracie’s Handmade Keyrings in February 2022 to help Gracie develop her confidence when talking to people.
“Since then, Gracie’s Handmade Keyrings has grown into something that Gracie is very proud of,” she said.
“Gracie loves to make people smile, she gets such a buzz hiding keyrings for people to find and she loves to see their reactions.
“It’s Gracie’s way of showing people that they are special.
“A little kindness goes a long way.
“Kindness makes the world a better place and sharing it is free.”
