2025 Childers Festival program launches

The program for the 2025 Childers Festival is now available to view, with plenty of great family-fun events on the agenda.

Colour, culture, food, music and plenty of fun is on the agenda for July when the 2025 Childers Festival kicks off in the region.

A packed program is now available to view online, with the community encouraged to get in quick to secure a spot for ticketed events.

Mayor Helen Blackburn said there was also a range of free events included, offering something for everyone as part of the 2025 program.
“The Childers Festival is a highlight of our community’s calendar, drawing visitors from far and wide,” she said.

“It’s a celebration of the town’s unique culture, with something for everyone – from cane fire tours, the spectacular Opera by the Lake and Saturday night’s street party, Crescent Street Presents, returning with this year’s theme of Oktoberfest in July.

“We invite everyone to join us for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend.”

On Thursday 24 July the festival opens with the Long Table Dinner and heritage cane fire tours, while Friday brings more great food and flavour at Picnic in the Vines.

Opera by the Lake will see some of Australia’s most celebrated performers take to the stage on Saturday, including tenor David Hobson, vocalist Silvie Paladino and soprano Suellen Cusack.

Crescent Street Presents: Oktoberfest in July, will also be held from 2 pm to 8.30 pm.

Crescent Street Presents: Oktoberfest in July will be one of the many great events part of Childers Festival this year.

The event will feature authentic German beers, bratwurst, pretzels, lively music, dance workshops, and quirky competitions like the Stein Holding Challenge and Mr and Mrs Oktoberfest contest – all with free entry.

Festivities will then culminate on Sunday with the massive Childers Festival Market Day, featuring more than 300 stallholders, live music across multiple stages, thrilling dance performances, and carnival rides.

Event portfolio spokesperson Cr Steve Cooper said July would be a great time to visit the region.

“The Childers Festival is a wonderful showcase of our town’s vibrant spirit and creativity,” he said.

“From the stunning market stalls to the world-class performances, this year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

“We’re excited to welcome people from all over to join in the celebrations.”
