It’s nearly ‘T’ time in Childers as the Childers Neighbourhood Centre and Childers Country Women’s Association support the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea with a special themed event.
The fundraising event will take place at Isis Club on Wednesday 11 June at 9.30 am where guests are invited to get creative and wear something starting with the letter ‘T’.
Bundaberg Regional Council Community Resilience and Connection portfolio spokesperson Councillor Tracey McPhee said the event was a wonderful way to support a worthy cause.
“Cancer is a disease that has touched the lives of so many in our communities and events like this help to raise vital funds to make a big difference for those impacted by it,” Cr McPhee said.
“This ‘T’ Party is a great reason to gather together to show support for an important cause and have a little fun at the same time.
“Guests can spend the morning making new friends and enjoying a delicious tea with all funds raised going directly to the Cancer Council.
“Our guest speaker will be Kath Rose from mental health, wellbeing and carer service provider Wellways, who will discuss the kind of support available for those affected by illness.
“I would encourage everyone to make sure to book their tickets at the Childers Neighbourhood Centre and join in this fabulous community event.”
