Now is the perfect time for dog owners in the Bundaberg Region to update their contact details or register for e-rego.

Dog registration renewals will be issued in August, covering the registration period of 1 September 2025 to 30 August 2026.

Residents whose contact details have changed in the past year can update their information online to ensure they don’t miss their renewal notice.

Go to bundaberg.qld.gov.au/Residents/Animals/Dogs to amend registered details or register a new dog.

Residents can also sign-up to receive their annual animal registration notice via email with Council’s e-rego system.

Signing up for email notification on Council’s website is simple and takes about five minutes.

All dogs within the Bundaberg Region must be registered from 12 weeks of age.

Reduced registration fees apply if:

  • the dog is microchipped
  • the dog is desexed
  • the owner holds a pension concession
  • the dog is an assistance dog
  • the dog is categorised as a working dog under the Animal Management (Cats & Dog) Act 2008.

Dog registration is compulsory throughout Queensland under State Government legislation.

It assists Council to identify and reunite lost dogs with their owners, and to reduce the number of unwanted dogs at animal shelters by encouraging responsible pet ownership.

  1. Just to advise had visitors this week and their comments were concerning as they relayed that the main street looks dreadful and they avoided that area…also were shocked about the changes made to the river front plans
